Store Launch - Midwest Wood Lab

It is time to kick things off. I’ve been messing around as a hobby turning pens and other things and several people have wondered if and when I would put something up for sale. Well, that time is now.

So what are you doing?

This all started out as a hobby to help keep my sanity during the pandemic. Wood turning has always been something that was interesting to me and half way through the pandemic I was lucky to purchase a full setup of a mini lathe and Mother Nature and her Derecho supplied me with ample maple and walnut to play with. Thus, the hobby was born. Now I have more pens than I know what to do with so time to put some of them up for sale.

What’s with the name?

Naming things is hard, plain and simple. I didn’t want to get pigeon holed into one product so I wanted to keep pens out of the name. In the future there will be other things. What those are, no idea. But I like to experiment and what better place than in a lab. Thus, the Midwest Wood Lab was born. Plus, the name was available on Instagram which was important.

Where can I buy this sweet merch?

Check out the store here!

I’ve had a few orders already from some select people and I’m just a 1 person shop here with a little bit of life going on at home. I haven’t had a lot of time to build up massive inventory so if you see something that you like but its out, try the pre-order page and you can place an order for any style that is on there. As always, I’ll take custom orders for people that want something different.

Product Shots

I’ll fully admit, I need to work on some of my product shots. But these helped get them out the door.
