iPhone Software Update 2.2

Another iPhone Software Update has come out. This one has bug fixes, Map and Email improvements, and the ability to download podcasts over the air.

I’m attempting to download the damn thing, but it is really slow right now. Anyone else having this issue?

XCode Errors

By trade, I’m a PHP/C programmer and rarely have time to really work on some fun stuff at home. But recently, I have been trying to spend some more time working on some fun projects and getting my hands dirty with XCode and the iPhone SDK.

I recently downloaded the latest and greatest version of XCode and overwrote the beta versions I had been running with before. The installation went fine and I decided I would load up one of the demo apps to make sure that everything was indeed still working as I expected.

Safari / Firefox lockup issues.

This weekend, I finally got around to installing the final iPhone SDK. Everything installed great and I figured that I would get around to playing with it sometime this week. Unfortunately, both my wife and I noticed that Safari would start to lock up more often and Firefox would do the same thing for me.

I of coarse did very little to debug this figuring that it might be bad ram. Well, last night I went to run XCode to start messing around with some new code and I got a rather cryptic error upon launching the system.

Smart Phone

I’ve finally taken the plunge. I have purchased an iPhone.

I have to say, I love the thing. I had exchange rocking with this thing within 3 minutes of getting it home on the wifi network. I had a Sprint service for many many years and they were pretty good to me for the most part. But the fact that they didn’t have the iPhone and the fact that Apple released as SDK for the thing put me over the top.

The New Macbooks

Ok, I like the fact that it is made from one piece of metal to form the body. There are a lot of advantages to that. Apple has also continued to make a very nice looking laptop. But do the users care about these things? I think that the business traveler will, but the home user sitting on the couch, I’m not so sure.
