April 1st – Internet Asshole Day

I like a good practical joke along with the next guy. For some reason, I get really annoyed with the internet on April 1st. You can’t trust a damn thing because everyone is making up shit. My favorite sites go into stupid mode where their jokes aren’t even funny. There are a few people that do it well (google has a good track record going) but for the most part, its 15 minutes of funny with the rest of the day filled with lame jokes and pure annoyance.

More VC Money for FlipBoard

If you own an iPad and haven’t downloaded FlipBoard yet, what the heck are you waiting for?!?! Seriously, this is one of the first apps that I felt truly took advantage of the large real estate that the iPad brought. I’ve written about this one before and I’m going to do it again.

And no, this isn’t all sunshine and freaking rainbows.

The reason that I’m writing this is that recently FlipBoard raised another round of funding with a 200 million dollar valuation.

Updated: OS X BUG – Formerly Communicator Bug

UPDATED: Check out the comments for where the bug really lies.

I have checked the “Always Trust” checkbox on this window EVERY time I have launched this app. Yet, it really doesn’t think I trust it. Thanks Microsoft!

New Hardware

Sometimes its just nice to get something new.

The big boss and I had been talking for a while about getting a new computer for home. The last one we purchased was a white MacBook Core Duo (2GHz with 1GB of RAM) The ram has been maxed out at 2GB a few years ago and I beat the hell out of that thing. Its been through major development projects over its 4 year lifespan.

The dark hours of sleep

I’ve learned over the years that there is a timespan of hours that if my sleep falls into that range, I’m going to be a complete waste the next day. That range, 4-6 hours. If I get more or less sleep than 4-6 hours, I’m good to go. But for some reason that range is the death of me.

Last night due to a server maintenance that went south, I got 5 hours.
