WWDC Predictions

Here is my quick run down of predictions for the keynote: The standard stats of how well the iPhones and Apps are selling iPhone 3.0 will be released with availability right away for iPhones. Once again iTouches will get the $20-$30 shaft. (Seriously Apple, why do you treat them like second class citizens?) Snow Leapard will get a July release date with kick ass Exchange/AD support. No netbook…again! The bloggers will cry party foul.

iPhone 3.0 Beta 5 – update

So far things are still going good. The part that was a bit rough was that when the restore image is used and the phone reboots…its like having a virgin iPhone again. Luckily you can restore your settings from a backup. But man that takes a while to re-install all of your applications and copy over the gigabytes of data. Not very much fun. The only issue I had with this process was that Frenzic didn’t seem to want to install the first time.

iPhone 3.0 Beta 5

For a while now I have been an officially licensed iPhone developer. I haven’t had all the time in the world that I originally hoped for to develop various applications. But slowly I have been starting to make a little headway on an idea that a buddy of mine had. I’ve been dragging my feet to make the 3.0 beta upgrade that has been available for developers for the past month or two.

$1.29 a song

As many people around the net have reported today, Apple has started selling songs using its variable pricing scheme. And unfortunately, it looks like Amazon may be following suit. Now, I like DRM free music as much as the next guy. But for popular songs, I’m not jazzed about paying $0.30 more per track. For some reason, I’d rather be locked into the DRM than have to pay more. Apple was probably going to get less of my money when this scheme first came out as I was going to buy more songs from Amazon if they were staying at $0.

Safari 4 – focus issues

Like a lot of Mac users out there, I took the plunge and tried out Safari 4 Beta.. Unfortunately, I’m rolling back to Safari 3. Its not that I really want to, its that I have found a very annoying issue. You see, my company uses IM like it is going out of style. It is one of the main ways that we communicate. Ever since installing Safari 4, I have come across an issue that drives me up the freaking wall.
