Today, I’m finally able to let the cat out of the bag about a side project that I have been working on. My fellow brother in song, Brent Bierstedt and I have been working over the past several months on a better way of accessing, ranking and organizing iPhone apps. We love the iPhone and think that the store is pretty killer. But there are a few things lacking that with a little bit of technology, we can bring out the best of the store and make it easy to find, search, share and rank applications that you find. So today, we are officially launching iapp100.com

We have some pretty big plans for the site and this is only the beginning. Revision one of the site allows you access to a lot of information that we have been collecting over the past several months. You can create an account, create a wish list to purchase apps later and rank and leave comments on apps that you have given a test run. Because let’s face it, they’re not all winners.

There is much more that we’re going to do with the site so we hope that you use it, tell us what you think, and spread the word to others!

Good Bye 2008

At lunch the other day, a friend asked everyone at the table what was our favorite part of 2008. I think that I may have offended her a bit when I said that my favorite thing was that it was over. I wasn’t kidding either.

Work has been challenging but stressful. The company was bought, we battled floods, my team helped launch several major products, moved offices, and have continued to add on additional projects that have not been made public knowledge, but have taken up a bunch of time.

Yes, I’m very happy to be employed and busy. But there have been a number of challenges that I could do without in 2009. Let’s hope for a fairly dry spring so we can avoid the major flooding the drenched the midwest. Its a small step, but would save me a lot of sleep.

I have my goals for 2009 and most of them will eventually come out in this blog. But for the time being, set your goals high, spend time with the ones that you love and let’s hope for a prosperous 2009 for everyone.

Site Move

I’ve decided to finally cut the cord and combine my personal blog back into the main usrlocal.com blog. usrlocal.com lost its focus for a while and I wanted to get back to talking about technology, tips and tricks and doing some software reviews. It had unfortunately become a story reposting site with a few comments from me on rare occasions. You can get that information else where.

So here it is, in all its glory. Unfortunately, there will be a few RSS feeds that will be broken most likely. I’ll do what I can in order to send those on to the correct places in the next couple of days.

But in the mean time, please update your links.

Back in the USA!

Well, its been a few weeks since I posted and that’s for a pretty good reason. I have been taking some R&R in the great country of Germany. My wife and I escourted over her grandparents where we eventually met up with her parents. The total vacation was 12 days, but it seemed like 12 hours. It went by way too damn fast.

I’ll have pictures posted to the flickr account here in the next few days and will begin my semi-regular posting again here shortly.
